Crispy homemade pizza dough topped with smoky BBQ sauce, colorful peppers, red onion, tofu, and corn for a satisfying vegan dinner.
30 min
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 1 tbsp Organic Sugar
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 ½ cups All-purpose Flour
- ⅓ cup Vegan Bbq Sauce
- 1 whole Red Bell Pepper
- 1 whole Red Onion
- ½ block Extra-firm Tofu
- 2 whole Vegan Chipotle Sausage
- ½ cup Frozen Corn
- 2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 500°F and arrange a rack in the bottom third of the oven. Grease a large baking sheet with olive oil.
- Combine 1 cup warm water (about 105°F) with the sugar in a medium bowl. Sprinkle in the yeast, stir lightly, and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour and smoked paprika. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil and stir until a dough forms. Knead by hand for 3-4 minutes until smooth and elastic, adding flour a tablespoon at a time if the dough is too sticky. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Divide the dough in half. On a lightly floured surface, press or roll each portion into a roughly 12-inch round. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread BBQ sauce evenly over each crust. Top with red bell pepper, red onion, crumbled tofu, chipotle sausage slices, and corn. Sprinkle nutritional yeast over the top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the crust edges are golden and toppings are slightly charred. Cool for 2 minutes, then slice and serve.
